KHAR: PML-N MNA from Bajaur Agency Shahabuddin Khan has said that he would spend major part of his development funds on provision of basic facilities to the people of backward areas.

He was addressing a ceremony after inaugurating work on six kilometres Pashat-Taranoo road project in Pashat area of Salarzai tehisl on Friday. He said that after his efforts the people living in the far-flung and backward areas would feel the change in their lives themselves.

He said that he was making efforts to get a special package approved from the federal government for development of remote areas of Bajaur Agency.

He claimed that the prime minister had assured him to allow a special development package for the region.

He said that several development projects in different localities of Salarzai tehsil would be started soon.

The MNA asked the officials of local administration to devise an effective system for monitoring progress on the ongoing development projects in the agency. Tribal elders, members of peace committees and officials of the administration were also present on the occasion.

On this occasion, elders of various tribes and members of peace committees praised the lawmaker for his efforts for development of remote areas of the region.
