TANK: Corps Commander Lt-Gen Hidayatur Rehman said on Thursday that the army had initiated many education projects in remote areas of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas to impart technical and vocational training to tribal youth.

He said that the youth of Fata would learn different professional techniques in these institutions and they would play role in the nation building. This he said while speaking at the graduation ceremony of Waziristan Institute of Technical Education (WITE) in Tank, according to a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations.

He distributed certificates and conferred medals to the successful students. Training in WITE was commenced on February 2 last. A total of 150 students graduated in five disciplines. WITE was established in 2011 in Sararogah, South Waziristan Agency and so far 500 students from Fata have graduated from this institute.
