ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to compensate the land owners of sector H-16, and I-17 by Wednesday.

IHC Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui directed the CDA to submit the compensation amount in form of cheaques in the court.

A number of petitioners have approached the court seeking compensation of their land the CDA had acquired for developing the above mentioned sectors.

The petitioners urged that despite the passage of more than five years, CDA has not made compensation against the land it had acquired.

The court warned the CDA of action if it failed to produce cheques before the court.

The matter has been adjourned till Wednesday.
