KOHAT: The Hangu police on Sunday arrested an alleged Afghan terrorist wanted for several years in cases of attacks on the security forces.

Giving deteails, a police official said that following a tip-off they started checking of vehicles at Mamokhwar checkpost in the jurisdiction of Doaba police station and stopped a coaster for checking.

The police arrested the alleged terrorist, identified as Behram Jan, during checking of the passengers going to Thall from Doaba. He was wanted by the Doaba and Thall tehsil police. The alleged terrorist was taken to Doaba police station for interrogation.

FOUR INJURED: Four people, two women among them, were injured when a car and pickup collided near Kohat Tunnel here on Sunday.

Eyewitnesses said that the mishap occurred during rain as the road was slippery. As a result, Ms Shabnam, Bibi Shaukat, Asif Iqbal and the driver belonging to Bannu were injured. The name of the injured pickup driver, who was discharged from hospital after treatment, could not be ascertained.

Riaz Shaheed police station has registered the case.

HAJ TRAINING: The administration has arranged three-day training for the intending male and female Haj pilgrims, a press release said. The training for men would begin at new Tableeghi Markaz from July 31, while women would be imparted training from Aug 7.
