Ayyan thanks lawyers, posts first selfie after release

KARACHI: Supermodel Ayyan Ali, who was released on bail from Adiala Jail last week in a currency smuggling case, thanked her legal team for facilitating her release and termed the episode a conspiracy against her and her career.

Thanks to all of you who prayed for me & my Lawyers specially Sardar Latif Khosa Sr ASC (Senior Advocate Supreme Court) ALLAH bless you all, said a tweet posted on the model's account.

Everything that happened was a conspiracy against me and my career! But there is no one stronger then ALLAH if ur innocent nothing can harm u, she said in another tweet.

After being in the limelight during her detention at Rawalpindi's Adiala jail and court appearances on charges of currency smuggling, the supermodel made her first public appearance of sorts on Twitter in a selfie with former VJ Waqar Zaka, after being released on bail.

My first selfie after 4 months :-) Right after dinner with my friend n the most daring PAKI ever, said the model.

The supermodel, who is one of the most recognisable faces in Pakistan’s fashion circuit, was jailed on March 14 when she was caught at Islamabad airport attempting to board a flight to Dubai with half a million dollars.

'a conspiracy against me and my career'. Hmmm, nobody has ever stuffed half a million dollars in my bag in order to harm my career. I love the way these people lie, no effort is made to make it credible. I would have preferred if Ayyan had called a press conference and pleaded her innocence with valid reasons why she was carrying half a million dollars.

I think a selfie is when you take the pic "yourself". Regardeless a little bit of humility goes along way. She's behaving not like to who justice was served but more like someone that beat the justice system. Which we all know in PK is..............

this case will now become dormant. minimum sentence for money laundering is 6 months and she served 4 months in prison so justice partially served (if shes guilty)

I never knew who she was before she was caught....nor did the cops who looked after her needs in jail , if you call it jail. She was always well-dressed in complete make-up while going for her hearings.
