GWADAR: A former commander of the banned Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) and his brother were among six people killed in an ambush in Nasirabad area of Kech district on Friday.

Fazal-i-Haider had been expelled from the militant organisation last week and its spokesman announced this a few days ago.

Official sources blamed the killing on personnel enmity and said his rivals opened fire on a vehicle in which he was travelling in Nasirabad, some 30km away from Turbat town.

Fazal, his brother Eid Haider, Wahid Baloch, Haroon Baloch and Bahar Ali Baloch were killed.

Kech Deputy Commissioner Mumtaz Ahmed Baloch said personnel of Levies and other security forces took the bodies to the district hospital in Turbat.

Some sources said Fazal-i-Haider had recently killed two people, including a child, and the victims’ family might have avenged the killings.
