Pakistan is becoming like China , a dictatorial regime , where freedom of speech and thought is restricted and punished severely.

@Zak that's why China is fast becoming a super power. None of the civilized nations would allow hate crimes. There should be no room in the society for those who preach hate for the fellow human beings regardless of their beliefs or looks.

@Zak There is difference between intellectual's speech and thoughts and the speech and thoughts of a mullah. Intellectuals use brain and mullahs use faiths for their speech and thinking receptively.

@Muhammad You seem sorely misinformed. China is a superpower in only a very restricted sense, and there is truckloads of religious and ethnic discrimination in China. A distinction needs to be made between what hate speech and free speech are.

@Zak I think one of our problems is that we cannot and have not defined freedom of speech. Our freedom of speech ends where there's a chance of others being hurt (physically and emotionally). We should all respect that limit. And also round up hate mongers like the people mentioned in this piece of news. They're dangerous to the right of choosing one's own religion/sect/ideology etc.

@Zak China has banned fasting in Ramazan, wearing skull cap and burakha. Pakistan is better than China for Muslims. Pakistan should raise this matter in UN.

In UK a lot of cases are decided on precedence. We have had an ideal well merited decision very recently that should help dispose off this case speedily.

The number of mosques is in inverse proportion to the quality of religious belief in the country.

There is ban on such moves in most of the the CENTRAL ASIAN STATES and Iran,Middle East and Saudi Arabia.That helps curbing ethnic and religious communal crises even no entry at immigration points for religious literature. This must b ban in Pakistan for peace in country as Islam believes in Religous Harmony.Religious we have been tolerating since 1946.Today's hostile and non peaceful conditions in Pakistan r due to illiterate Islamic preacher who all want their own type of Islam in Pakistan.For peace and progress,religious elements in Pakistan require to b either wiped out or controlled with the Iron Hands.

Is there any solution? nothin in my mind .. Best way that one khutba should generate and send to the city/province/country masjid as they like - but what if the khutba generating authority is in wrong hands? what can they do to the whole nation?

@Muhammad .... I have lived in Guang Zhou. My wife is from Shanghai. I have many friends in the hotel business in China and many who graduated with advanced degrees from U.S. universities. We say anything we wish on any subject or about any official in private conversations. No one is persecuted for free speech in China. The Chinese are not stupid enough to denounce their government on street corners. The Cultural Revolution is over and people are no longer spied on in their neighborhoods or at schools. What the Chinese do not have is the American First Amendment "right of peaceful assembly for the redress of grievances". The major problem in China is that people are being robbed of their homes and land by phony laws of government's right of public domain. In many cases Chinese officials make private deals with private developers that leave people homeless. These people protest in public because they have already lost everything.

Looks like a case of sect war to me.

Why is there so much hate among Muslims? Especially ones in Muslims countries where you cant blame discrimination by the majority. This is similar to hate I see in some whites towards non white people.

Thyroid dysfunction can manifest in several ways in an individual. It is the root cause of many a disease. Public speakers will benefit much, when they clear this test, before stepping in front of the lime light to speak their minds.

Good step, if mimbers are used to hurt others. it should not be tolerated. We need sense of harmony and love to make a peaceful society, whatever we believe should be a personal matter. hurting and hating should be banned.

@Zak There is a need for being responsible. You cannot use the "freedom of speech" crutch to call for the annihilation of another group and get away with it. I am all for controls and checks on irresponsible and hateful speech. The past 15 years have shown us what this freedom has done to our social fabric.
