TIMERGARA: A woman gave birth to quintuplets at a private hospital here on Sunday, hospital sources said, adding the mother and the children were in good health.

The couple had been childless for the last few years. Sources said a woman, a resident of Kadh Maidan, was brought to the Musarat Shaukat Medical Complex in Timergara in a critical condition.

Dr Musarat Ali, a gynecologist at the hospital, suggested a major operation to her to which the relatives agreed. Sources said the operation took half an hour and the woman gave birth to five children — three boys and two girls.

The family celebrated the birth of five children and distributed sweets among the patients and their attendants at the hospital.
