RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force has seized drugs worth Rs849 million and arrested 24 mules, among them nine Nigerians, and impounded three vehicles in 10 operations across the country.

The seized drug consisted of 340kg Charas, 4.5kg heroin, 700gram ice and 400gm cocaine.

The ANF Rawalpindi Road check team arrested one Muhammad Israr, a resident of Peshawar, near Kohinoor Mills on G.T. Road seized 2.4kg Charas on him. The drug was meant to be delivered to a local pedlar.

Forty kilograms of Charas was found in secret cavities of a car near Haji Shah Mor on GT Road in Attock. Mamoon Rasheed of Lahore and Abul Hasan of Peshawar, who were travelling in the car, were taken into custody for trying to smuggle the drug into Punjab.

The ANF Lahore recovered 3.7kg heroin and 400gm cocaine from nine Nigerian nationals in separate actions. Seven of the suspects were identified as Ebuka, George, Ermerla Johan, Ogugua, Jack, Chima and Basil. They were picked up from Ferozepur Road, Walton Road, Temple Road, Maka Colony and Canal Road.

A routine profiling by an ANF team at the Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore led to the recovery of 250gm heroin from the shoes of a passenger Muhammad Sohail. He is a resident of Lahore and was about to board a Colombo flight.

A raid at the Abdullah Express Bus Stand in Lahore resulted in the recovery of 3kg Charas from the possession of Qaseem Khan who had come from Peshawar to deliver the drug.

The ANF Lahore team seized 1kg Charas from two men in Gagrah Sloing Sher Shah area in Multan.

The ANF Peshawar team recovered 6kg Charas from two motorcyclists Ghaniur Rehman and Shah Muhammad near Caltex Petrol Pump, Ring Road Peshawar. Both suspects were said to be residents of Khyber Ageny.

The ANF Karachi team found 20.8kg Charas and 180 bottles of liquor in a car in Hyderabad and arrested its occupants Mukhtiar Ali, Farooqul Haq and Muhammad Ali.

ANF personnel raided a place at Orangi Town in Karachi and seized 267kg Charas and apprehended two suspects Sher Dil and Dost Ali.
