LAHORE: At least 1,520kg meat of dead animals was seized from various localities of Nishtar, Iqbal and Shalimar towns here early on Thursday.

According to CDGL’s Deputy District O(livestock) Dr Rahat, a special raiding team seized the meat of dead animals from the illegally-operated slaughterhouses.

He said the raiding team had the cases registered against 15 people for selling unhygienic meat.

Meanwhile, various CDGL’s price control magistrates got arrested 27 shopkeepers for overcharging and hoarding. The officials, according to a spokesman, also imposed a fine of Rs75,100 on several others.

WARNING: The LDA reiterated on Thursday that no other authority other than the LDA is authorised to approve any private housing scheme/land sub-divisions in the Lahore division after Sept 19, 2013.

Besides, any approval granted by any authority other than the LDA after this date shall not be valid and lawful.

The step has been taken to safeguard the interest of public at large, respectable citizens/prospective investors, owners of print and electronic media and all sponsors/developers of private housing schemes, farm housing schemes and land sub-divisions in districts of Lahore and Sheikhupura.

According to a spokesman, the sponsors are not allowed to advertise any scheme or project prior to formal approval by the LDA.

The prospective buyers of plots in any housing scheme/land sub-division in the limits of the Lahore division, according to the LDA, are advised to make sure about the valid NOC and approval before purchasing plots in any private housing scheme.
