TAXILA: Anti-corruption officials on Wednesday caught a policeman taking bribe from a complainant at Wah Saddar Police station.

Sources said the constable posted at Wah Saddar Police station demanded Rs2,500 from Tanveer, a resident of Taxila for receiving an application for registration of a case.

He brought the matter into the notice of Asad Naeem, director anticorruption.

Taking notice of this malpractice, he deputed special judicial magistrate Khalid Ashraf who caught the policeman and recovered signed currency notes from his possession. The cop was arrested and a case registered against him.
