CHAKWAL: A man shot himself dead after murdering a minor boy and injuring his mother who also expired at a hospital in Rawalpindi, police said on Thursday.

The incident occurred in Pidh village of tehsil Choa Saidan Shah on Wednesday night.

The alleged killer was identified as Attaullah, a resident of Khairpur city of Sindh. According to the police, the daughter of the deceased woman, who is a Tiktoker, contracted her second marriage with Attaullah five months ago after developing a relationship on cell phone.

“She married without the consent of her parents but lived hardly a month with her husband in Khairpur and came back to her parents’ home”, a police official told Dawn. She obtained separation through court from her husband and her parents married her in Rawalpindi.

“Attaullah kept on trying to contact with her estranged wife without knowing that she was married off in Rawalpindi”, the official said and added that on Wednesday night Attaulah barged into the house of his former in-laws and asked his former mother-in-law about his former wife.

“When he was told that his former wife was married in Rawalpindi, he took out a pistol and started firing on his former mother-in-law, who got fatally wounded as three bullets struck her”, the official said. A nine-year-old child identified as Abdul Mateen, the youngest son of the woman, was also hit with a bullet and died at the spot.

Attaullah also shot himself in the forehead and died at the spot.

The two bodies and the injured woman were taken to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital from where the woman was referred to Rawalpindi where she died.
