LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday ordered transfer of Sialkot District Police Officer Shahzad Asif and the deputy superintendent of police in connection with the killing of two lawyers at Daska.

The chief minister issued the orders after meeting with a lawyers delegation led by Punjab Bar Council Vice-Chairperson Farha Ejaz Baig here.

The chief minister said complete challan of the case would be submitted in court within 14 days and he would personally monitor its progress. He said peaceful protest was the right of lawyers’ community, however, those involved in damaging vehicles and buildings would be taken to task. He sought cooperation of lawyers’ community for bringing the elements involved in ransacking to the book.
