LAHORE: The newly-launched Green Line Express Train will be operating between federal and Sindh capitals according to revised timings from May 22.

A spokesperson said on Monday that from May 22, the Green Line train would leave Karachi Cantt at 10pm for Islamabad’s Margalla station where it would arrive the next day at 8pm. It will have a 30 minute stop at Lahore.

From Margalla station of Islamabad, the train will be departing at 3pm to reach Karachi Cantt the next day at 1pm.

With the new timings, the train inaugurated by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on May 15, would be covering the distance between Islamabd and Karachi in 22 hours instead of present 23 hours and 15 minutes.

SUSPENDED: Two senior officers of Pakistan Railways (PR), Lahore division, have been suspended from service for negligence that delayed the arrival of Green Line train at the Punjab capital by 15 minutes.

In the light of a preliminary inquiry, PR Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Javed Anwar ordered the suspension from service of Divisional Mechanical Engineer II Abdul Jabbar and Lahore Station Manager Bashir Ahmad with immediate effect.

PR Chief Commercial Manager Khalid Khurshid Kunwar would hold a thorough probe into the matter and submit a detailed report to the CEO within two days.
