KOHAT: An army aviation helicopter was damaged after it hit a security barrier while landing at the Kohat PAF base on Saturday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the helicopter hit a barrier and was slightly damaged.

No one was injured in the incident.

Sources said the helicopter hit its tail router with a security container during landing and pilot Major Shehzad lost control of the helicopter.

They said the containers had been put on the western side of the airport as a security measure against terrorist attack.

The Zarb-i-Azb military operation against militants has been extended to Orakzai Agency with security forces launching both ground and air offensives against militant hideouts from Kohat.

The operation against militants is already underway in the adjoining Tirah valley of Khyber Agency and Orakzai Agency.
