PESHAWAR: Sarhad University vice-chancellor Dr Saleemur Rahman has said that the world is progressing rapidly due to the information technology education and by getting IT education people could achieve success in their life.

He said this while speaking at the certificate distribution ceremony at the central police office here on Thursday. Additional IGP Mohammad Naeem Khan also spoke on the occasion.

The VC urged the police jawans to learn more and more about the computer education and make its best use in their practical life. He said that Sarhad University wanted to do more for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police as its jawans had offered tremendous sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and assured that more such courses would be arranged for the police.

According to a statement, various professional courses have been introduced to harness professional capabilities of police officers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The two-month training was one such course jointly organised by the operations branch of KP police and directorate of information and communication technology (ICT) affairs of Sarhad University, Peshawar.

The additional IGP said that the use of information technology in every sphere of life had increased manifold and asked the jawans to fully equip themselves with computer education and techniques and play their pivotal role in the progress and prosperity of the country. He said that the future of every jawan depended on the IT education.
