KARACHI: Reserved seat

Published September 30, 2003

KARACHI, Sept 29: One seat will be reserved in every bus, minibus, coaches and other public transport for handicapped persons.

A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of the Regional Transport Authority Board held under the chairmanship of DCO Mir Hussain Ali here on Monday. It was decided that all buses, minibuses and coaches would be bound to reserve one seat for a special person.

According to another decision, the existing routes of buses and minibuses would be amended and rationalized.

In this regard, only applications of such transporters would be considered, which could provide better facilities to people and the profiteering trend in the transporters could be discouraged.

In order to enhance the transport facilities, the meeting sanctioned some new routes and changed a few other routes.—APP
