KARACHI: MQM chief Altaf Hussain expressed on Friday his anger over `non-compliance’ of his directives by the party leaders and then disconnected the phone saying goodbye to supporters listening to his speech at Karachi’s Jinnah Ground.
The strong reaction from the self-exiled leader left the MQM workers and leaders shocked and they begged forgiveness and urged him to reconnect the line.
“I give directives but my fellows hardly obey them. From now onwards your and party’s affairs will be looked after by the coordination committee,” he said before disconnecting the telephone line.
The party workers raised slogans in their leader’s favour. Mr Hussain returned online and resumed the address.
He criticised the ongoing operation in Karachi and alleged that law-enforcement agencies were only targeting the MQM.
He questioned the authenticity of the operation and said he was the only leader whose house had been raided by law-enforcement personnel.
Referring to the Supreme Court ruling that there were militant wings in some political parties in Karachi, he asked why no other leader’s house was raided.
“Was any MQM worker ever found involved in attacking a sensitive installation? I am not afraid of telling the truth. Even in England, I don’t care for my life for the sake of truth,” Mr Hussain said.

I am not a MQM fan but he has a point. It was indeed judicial finding that there are militant wings in almost every political. There is no fairness. What ever is good for the goose is good for gander.

All criminal should be surrounded and prosecuted. It doesn't give right to a criminal and terrorist to question the way an operation executed or ask questions why not all criminals are not being caught or prosecuted before getting to me. It's coming to all sooner or later and it will prosecute all the militant wings of political parties.

@Justice for all: Every now and then there is a similar drama staged, simply to play with public emotions. He should come to Pakistan and lead his party as it is his right.

His allegations are self explanatory. The law-enforcement agencies are only targeting the hard-core criminals and other parties are no where near those who ruthlessly obey orders from their Peer.

If there are militants wings of other political parties, why are they not active outside Karachi? Surely MQM- the only dominant party in Karachi- has a role in it. Why are the same scale of political parties related crimes not seen in the rest of Sind?

I am not an MQM fan , In fact I am totally against MQM but Mr Altaf this time has a pont, why other parties are spared . I am a witness of PPP and ANP gun trotting men beacuse all three mostly are or were involved in land grabbing ....so please DG Rangers get rid of all the mafias from Karachi.

is this a party of a cult?
if he does not fear for his life, why is he not in Pakistan then?
I feel sorry for his followers, they are being used at massive scale, and they have no idea.

Agreed with White Noise....if AH doesn't care for his life and is overtly concerned about Pakistan (Karachi) and his party affairs, then why not come back to homeland and become a renewed citizen? Show us the courage and face the overwhelming cases here pending since ages.
Poor Rangers have their hands full with MQM to deal with others. But time will come for others as well...

Now it is a classical dilemma between the leader and the followers...He can decide to take the entire blame of wrong doing on his owns-elf (money laundering) or his lieutenants collectively? They can find the 'gang of four' like Mao wife and 3 others were made to suffer that born today's 'capitalist' China.

Indeed MQM alone should not be target for the cleaning. PPP,and ANP leaders and their chamchas house should be raided by Rangers.
