KARACHI: After enjoying 3-2 lead, Pakistan’s Amir Tariq fell prey to China’s Jiahao Huang in the fully stretched battle of the 16th Asian under-21 Snooker Championship in Beijing on Friday.

Having won his first group match, Amir seized 2-0 lead by taking the first and second frames 70-42 and 56-49 before conceding the following two 18-66, 16-52. Amir again surged 3-2 with 65-17 victory. Needing a frame to win the battle, the Pakistani lost his touch and lost back-to-back frames 24-71 and 10-68 to suffer first defeat. Amir play his last match on Saturday against Hong Kong’s Tam Yun Fung.

At the time of filing this report, Pakistan’s top cueist Mohammad Faheem and Abdul Raheem were engaged in their last group matches.
