According to a statement issued by the area elders on Sunday, the company had promised to upgrade the district hospital, provide potable water and jobs to the local people and construct damaged roads in the area.

They criticised the elected representatives of Hangu for keeping mum over refusal of the company to follow the agreement for resolution of their problems. They demanded payment of commission to the people on gas being supplied to Punjab.

They asked the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited to expedite work on supply of gas to Hangu district.
