KOHAT: Robbers snatched Rs15 million from four businessmen at gunpoint after stopping their pickup van at Nasratkhel petrol pump in Kohat and injured one of them upon resistance while they were going back to Hangu after collecting cash in Kohat.

An investigation team has been constituted to probe the robbery incident that took place on Hangu highway on Wednesday night.

Confirming the incident, police said that the traders were returning to Hangu after collecting money from businessmen in Gumbat.

The injured trader identified as Mohammad Za Gul and Naamir Khan, residents of Bilia Mina, Hangu, told the cantonment police that four gunmen stopped their pickup and asked them to hand over the cash. The robbers also took away their vehicle.

The police said that the cantonment police taking action blocked the road and found the car of the robbers parked near old Tableeghi Markaz on Hangu road in Kohat.

They also reportedly found Rs1 million in the car, but the robbers were still at large. Kohat district police head Sohaib Ashraf had asked the investigation team constituted on Thursday to arrest the robbers as soon as possible.
