KARAK: PML-N provincial general secretary and president of Khattak Loya Jirga Rehmat Salam Khattak has asked the provincial government to pay its share of Rs4 billion of the oil and gas royalty to provide natural gas facility to different areas of Karak.

Talking to reporters here on Monday, he claimed that the federal government was ready to pay its share for the purpose.

Mr Khattak said that gas supply even to the approved villages of the district had long been stopped by the concerned department.

The PML-N leader said that due to low gas pressure in the district people had been facing immense difficulties.

Mr Khattak claimed that he had come to know through highly placed sources that the provincial government was planning to establish the oil refinery in Khushal Garh area of Kohat district as section 4 had already been imposed in the proposed location of the oil refinery.

He resolved that the people of Karak would not let the provincial government to shift the mega project out of the district as it produced oil and gas reserves more than all other districts of Kohat division.

The PML-N leader accused the PTI-led government of creating more problems for the people instead of resolving them. He said that the government was advised to start serving people before it was too late. — Correspondent
