LARKANA: The Sindhi Adabi Sangnat (SAS) Chandka Medical College Larkan unit held the launching ceremony of a Sindhi poetry book ‘Sindhu Dhara’ (Sindhu’s Current) of Dr Zafar Pirzado here in the Officers Club on Sunday.

Presiding over the anthology’s launching, prominent writer and researcher Dr Bashir Ahmed Shaad said the poetry book of Dr Pirzado was a welcome addition to the Sindhi literature. His poetry represented inner thoughts of the poet and would prove a mouth piece of many who would find their feeling painted into it.

He said it (ceremony) was a cerebral treat for the book lovers and literature. He (poet) had touched almost all subjects right from love to poverty and Sufism, Dr Shad said.

Poet and secretary of Larkano District Historical Society Prof Mukhtiar Samo, who has about 12 books to his credit, said Dr Zafar Pirzdo was a teacher also. A good teacher ought to be a knowledgeable, creative minded and vibrant person. These three qualities were found in abundance in Dr Zafar Pirzado who had earned matchless respect from his students. His poetry preached love, peace and tranquillity as they were traits of the nature, he said.

A renowned poetess of Sindhi language, Rubina Abro, said the book “Sindhu Dhara” was embodiment of thoughts of a very sensible and sensitive soul of Sindh. The poetry which did not serve the cause of people lived for very short time in the memory of people, she said.

Dr Prih Sakina Gaad, vice president of the Ladies Club, said that composing poetry was not a task of every person. It required innate quality and an ability to be sensitive. Dr Pirzdo had genuinely expressed his thoughts in his poetry, she said.

Adeeb Inqlabi, who has authored many books, said Dr Zafar Pirzado was a dedicated fellow. This book had given him (poet) a new identification and entry into the field of Sindhi literature.

Larkana DIG Dr Sain Rakihio Mirani said readers of Dr Zafar’s book should be inspired to work hard and get their due through their abilities.

Dr Zafar Pirzado said the poetry book was the result of his observations of life and society. “Whatever I have experienced, I have expressed it through my poetry,” he said. If the experiences were bitter, the utterance would equal it, but if disposition was full of love, it would give rise to the thoughts of love, he said.

Mohammad Ali Pathan, Sagar Abro, Dr Akber Ali Soomro, Dr Malik Jalbani,Dr Ahsan Dansih, Dr Abdul Fatah Bughio and Javed Tunio also spoke on the occasion.
