Day 3 at the Lahore Literature Festival promises to bring the audience full circle, with panels celebrating Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Saadat Hasan Manto, Noor Jahan and Ismet Chughtai. Those complaining about politics being favoured over culture at the festival might be mollified by the line up.

Each morning I wake to read dreading to news from Pakistan. Good to see literary festivities taking place in Lahore. All of a sudden life seems to sprung up from a Pakistani city. Salute to those who make this happen. May we know about those who put so much effort to organize this event.

Lahore - Punjab seems out of choice --- every Lahore / Punjab Literature Festival 'celebrate' Urdu writer Faiz, Manto and singer Noor Jahan. Why not celebrate Punjabi folk/saints or non-Punjabi writers or literary giants of the sub-continent ?
