NOWSHERA: The police arrested an Afghan prayer leader for delivering hate speech during Friday sermon at Pabbi.

Pabbi police arrested Afghan cleric, Maulvi Noorullah, after complaint by local people that he delivered a provocative speech during the Friday sermon.

Maulvi Noorullah is prayer leader at the Jamia Masjid Tahirzai No 1, Pabbi main bazaar.

Soon after receiving the information about hate speech, a police party led by SHO Pabbi Shad Ali Khan reached the mosque and arrested the cleric under MPO 16.

Meanwhile, a young boy (17) committed suicide after exchange of hot words with his family at Badrashi here on Friday.

A local resident said that Hashir Zaman from Chitral, who was presently residing in Badrashi, exchanged hot words with his parents at home, and later took a pistol and shot and injured himself.

Police said that people took him to district headquarter hospital, Nowshera, but he succumbed to injuries.
