IS in Pakistan

Published January 25, 2015

RECENTLY the Bangladesh police arrested four members of the Islamic State, who are believed to be trained in Pakistan. Gen John Campbell, the commander of US forces in Afghanistan, has recently warned about the recruitment by the IS in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The information that the IS is finding its way into the country has been there for quite some time from various sections and at different levels, but unfortunately those who are at the helm of affairs are categorically refuting its presence in Pakistan, arguing that it is a threat limited to Arab countries. Are we waiting for the time the IS will become a big menace like Al Qaeda/Taliban when we will carry out another Zarb-i-Azb?
