DADU, Sept 17: A sum of Rs2 million lapsed due to mismanagement of the district administration, Dadu, as it was not used for laying drainage pipelines in the town because the money was not released to the Taluka Municipal Administration.

This was stated by the Taluka Nazim, Dadu, Syed Zafar Ali Shah, who is also finance secretary of the All Sindh Taluka/Town Nazims Alliance, while talking to newsmen on Wednesday.

He said that the Taluka Municipal Administration had launched a campaign against influential people who had occupied/encroached government land in the town and 100 influential people, including union council Nazims, businessmen and political people had been charge-sheeted in the court of law.

He said that the post of the Taluka Municipal Administration planning was lying vacant since the last two years; hence, development work was badly affected.

He said that the district administration and the district government were not cooperating with the Taluka Municipal Administration and they were issuing development schemes to the public health department directly, which was illegal.

He said that according to law, the officers of the public health department have to work under the Taluka Nazim and not under the DCO or district government.

ARRESTED: The Mehar police arrested an outlaw, Rehmat Ali Jatoi, from the Indus Highway on Wednesday.

Police seized a single barrel gun and 50 cartridges from his possession.

ROBBED: Five unidentified armed men snatched a motorcycle from a man, Nazimuddin Mangnejo, on the Dadu-Phakka link road on Wednesday.
