No threat to PIA’s Delhi operations

KARACHI: There is no imminent threat to flight operations to New Delhi, said a spokesman for the Pakistan International Airlines on Monday.

He said the airline had acquired immoveable property in New Delhi in 2005 for running its offices after completing all necessary formalities.

After more than nine years, the Reserve Bank of India, through a letter dated Nov 24, 2014, objected to the purchase of the property, alleging that it was done without its permission.

The spokesman said the PIA was taking measures to safeguard and protect its assets, playing down press reports that flight operations to New Delhi might be affected because of the dispute.

Any problems involving Pakistan & India ends with distrust - notice the various comments that are posted - it is as if a war has begun. This mentality must change and both countries must look at ways for peace.

Yes, No country has right to buy or sell Indian land nor do they have no any right on our land. Whoever has sold that property to PIA is a traitor of India and he or they must be punished for that act.

India violate LOC, occupy Muslim lands of Kashmir and Sichen and use Afghanistan to support and finance terror groups like TTP in Pakistan resulting in thousands of deaths. All diplomatic and bilateral ties should be scraped all together as long as India continue violating human rights and behave like an outcast.

With decreasing fleet size, PIA should take this as a blessing in disguise. How much immovable property PIA has to sell around the globe to sustain itsef? So what is new? Showing a 747-300 is sheer ignorance. PIA has no operatable 747's in service.

@VITHAL My God. brother don't let such extremist thoughts prevail upon you. We are all human beings and to err is human. Both sides have shown more than enough belligerence. How long the commoners of SOUTH ASIA will be suffering from such policies. Now is the time to come to terms. There are intractable issues ahead of us to deal like climate change, water, poverty, hunger, unemployment and so on. This is why I call this kind of education disadvantageous. A real educated person plays a role of facilitator and not spoiler.
