KARACHI: A young man was shot dead while a young passer-by wounded by robbers for resisting a robbery bid on busy Burnes Road on Friday evening, the police said.

After the incident an angry mob managed to get hold the two alleged robbers and gave them a severe beating before handing them over to the police, an Aram Bagh police officer said.

They added that two suspects intercepted motorcyclist Kamal and tried to mug him.

When he put up some resistance, the alleged robbers opened fire on him, said SSP south Faisal Bashir Memon.

A 12-year-girl, Sidra, who was passing through the area, was also shot at and wounded, added the officer.

The incident enraged the area people who captured the robbers and thrashed them, said the SSP.
