MULTAN: To facilitate the Christian community in shopping for Christmas, the district government has established four Christmas bazaars in the city.

District Coordination Officer Zahid Saleem Gondal said this while presiding over a meeting here on Monday.

The DCO said edibles and other daily-use items would be available at cheaper rates to the Christians in these bazaars.

Meanwhile, addressing a meeting, the DCO said work on Khanewal Road was underway while the construction of Multan Tea House was in final stages.

He said arrangements were made to ensure security of educational institutions, while owners of private schools and colleges were directed to increase the number of guards.

Referring to walled city project, he said work was underway in Sarafa Bazaar, Haram Gate, Bohar Gate and adjoining areas in collaboration with Italian government.

He said the museum would not be set up in Town Hall and an alternative venue would be selected for the purpose.
