KARACHI: Pakistan Railways squandered a golden chance to record their first victory in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) this season after they let a two-goal lead slip to draw 2-2 against Muslim FC here on Monday.
Promoted Railways, who went into the match at the KPT Stadium with six draws and nine defeats in their 15 matches, remain second-from-bottom and very likely to be relegated at the end of the season.
Although four points ahead of bottom-side Baloch FC Quetta, who have also played 16 games, they are nine behind National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) who occupy 10th spot in the table having played 14 games.
Railways, though, had a great chance to boost their survival hopes after Mohammad Abid gave them the lead a minute into the second-half and Wajid Ali doubled their advantage on the hour mark.
But two goals in four minutes from Haji Mohammad and Asmatullah saw Muslim FC draw level with eight minutes left to play and move to 22 points from 19 matches.
