Cash, jewellery taken away

LAHORE: Robbers struck three times in the city on Saturday and took away cash, jewellery and valuables all worth Rs5 million.

Four robbers stormed into the house of Imran of Ghazi Road in Defense C police precinct, held the family hostage at gunpoint and looted Rs1 million.

Four armed men barged into the house of Asif in Mustafa Town and made off with cash, jewellery and valuables worth Rs0.5 million.

Some robbers entered the house of Fareed Malik in Defence A W-block and looted Rs3.5 million.

GANG BUSTED: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) police claimed on Saturday to have arrested 11 members of a robbers’ gang.

A police team headed by Inspector Rais Khan raided a house in Kotwali area and arrested ringleader Khalid and his 10 accomplices Waheed Butt, Aftab, Hafiz Adnan, Manzoor, Khadim, Qasim, Arshad, Afzal, Aabid and Sabara.

Police also seized booty, including 15 mobile phones, two cars, 30 motorcycles and Rs0.1 million besides illegal weapons from them.
