SHEIKHUPURA: A villager shot dead a dacoit and injured another in Harria village in the Mangtanwala police remit early on Thursday. Their four other accomplices managed to escape from the scene.

According to reports, six armed men barged into the house of farmer Karamat who opened fire on them, killing one of them and injuring another. The remaining four managed to flee.

The killed dacoit was later identified as Yaqoob and the injured as Sultan, a resident of Sara-i-Mughal, near Bhai Pheru, Kasur. Further investigation is under way.

SHOT DEAD: A mother of two was shot dead allegedly by her husband over a domestic issue in Marah Balochan locality on Thursday.

Masroor Altaf opened fire on his wife, Aamina Bibi, following a quarrel. Further investigation is under way by the Sangla Hill Sadar police.
