PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf workers on Monday held a protest demonstration and blocked the GT Road at Hashtnagri by burning tyres to condemn killing of a PTI worker in Faisalabad.

The workers also held a candlelight vigil to remember the deceased worker and pay him homage for sacrificing his life for the party’s cause.

The protesters were led by provincial minister for mines and mineral development Ziaullah Afridi. PTI workers also raised slogans against Nawaz Sharif.

PTI central leader, Arif Alvi, also arrived at the protest, where he blamed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his party leaders for killing of the PTI worker in Faisalabad. He warned that his party could not remain silent over the bloodshed.

Mr Alvi alleged that the PML-N workers had attacked the peaceful protesters and used state machinery against the citizens. He said that it was open vandalism and the entire country was witness to the unfortunate incident.

The protesters ended the blockade of the road after intervention of the party leaders.
