LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri will leave for the United States on Wednesday (today) for medical examination.

According to the schedule, Mr Qadri will leave for Houston (USA) through the Emirates airline at 9:35pm along with his doctor (Dr M.M Mansoor) who especially arrived in Lahore on Tuesday morning.

“Dr Mansoor along with other local doctors checked Qadri Sahib. He also reviewed all medical reports and finally decided to shift the patient to America for better treatment after he expressed concern over the reports,” Mr Noorullah, spokesperson for Dr Qadri, told Dawn.

He said as soon as the PAT chief got well, he would return to Pakistan. He clarified that Dr Qadri while staying in Houston sometime ago also felt pain in his heart after which doctors had advised him not to visit Pakistan. But Mr Qadri rejected their advice keeping in view his pledge of returning to the country, Noorullah added.

He said the PTI chief Imran Khan and MQM head Altaf Husain also telephoned Dr Qadri and inquired after his health.

“Manzoor Watoo on behalf of Asif Ali Zardari also visited the Model Town residence of Dr Qadri,” he added.
