ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan threw down yet another gauntlet for the PML-N led government on Sunday, announcing the party's plan to paralyse major cities – and eventually "shut down" the entire country by December 16.
Addressing a crowd of thousands assembled at D-Chowk, Imran unveiled "Plan C":
"On Thursday (December 4), I will go to Lahore and shut it down. On December 8 I will shut down Faisalabad; on December 12 I will go to Karachi and shut it down. By December 16 I will close down all of Pakistan."
The PTI rally and the announcement of "Plan C" was a critical next-step for the party, which had lost political mileage and steam since the massive anti-government movement launched in August.
Reiterating demands for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's resignation and a fair probe into alleged rigging of the 2013 elections, the PTI Chairman appeared confident that his new push for street agitation would succeed.
"I know the people of Lahore are ready... I know all of Faisalabad is ready... and Karachi, I know they are waiting for me," he said.
Lambasting the ruling PML-N, Imran said a further "Plan D" would be revealed on Thursday.
"The ball is in your court, Nawaz Sharif — do your talks, do your investigations and solve the issue. We will close Pakistan down when December 16 comes, and what I do after that you will not be able to bear it...It has been 109 days and Naya Pakistan is waking up every day. We can all see it,” Imran said.
Maintaining an aggressive tone while addressing his opponents, the PTI Chairman reiterated claims that the PML-N and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) colluded to rig the 2013 elections.
"I am a Pakistani who can see my country going down, you [Nawaz] and Zardari both in the 2013 election fixed the match. Zardari says there was rigging in Punjab; Nawaz says [there was] rigging in Sindh, Fazlur Rehman also says there was rigging... Balochistan parties say there was rigging," he said.
"I want to ask all lawyers and educated people — if all parties are saying there was rigging then why is only PTI and Imran Khan asking for an investigation this rigging?"
“Mian sahib, if a country progresses just based on new roads, then make Malik Riaz the prime minister — a country progresses when money is spent on the citizens for their betterment,” he said, referring to the prime minister’s announcement earlier this week of the government’s plans for improved infrastuructue and roads across the country.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi speaks
Addressing the gathering, PTI Vice-President Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the time for speeches was over.
“Today we will not make decisions – you will make all the decisions. Do you have the courage to implement Imran Khan’s next big plan?” he asked.
“Should we quietly go home? If you don’t want to go back make a decision – are you ready for the next step?”
A mammoth crowd

A police official estimated that nearly 100,000 people gathered at Parade Avenue.
Supporters had poured into the capital from all over the country to attend the rally, making it one of the largest turn-outs in Islamabad since the start of the sit-in in August.
Participants at the rally said Parade Avenue was full of PTI workers sitting atop containers set up by the government. Nearly 80 per cent of the crowd was reported to be 18 to 40 year olds.
Sheikh Rasheed breathes fire
Chief of Awami Muslim league Sheikh Rasheed on Sunday spoke ahead of the PTI Chairman, and reiterated the anti-government protesters’ demand that the government must go.
“When the time comes, Nawaz falls to his knees… when the time is up, he goes to Havelian,” Rasheed says, referring to the premier’s recent visit to Abbottabad where he lambasted the PTI.
“Imran Khan will finish the governance of tyranny,” Rasheed said, adding that if cases can be registered against a former army chief and prime minister, then there is basis to register a case against Nawaz Sharif for “changing the votes of the people”.
“I wanted to make a long speech but I am aware that every household is awaiting Imran’s speech,” Rasheed said.
Rasheed condemned the killing JUI-F leader Khalid Soomro, however, he added that JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman's attitude has ruined his party's politics.
Capital, rally kept secure
Radio Pakistan reported that the government deployed thousands of security personnel for the PTI rally.
The report said the government deployed 15,000 security personnel to ensure security of the PTI rally, and the Red Zone in Islamabad. Special security arrangements were also made for public and private buildings in the area.
According to an Interior Ministry spokesperson, security forces including FC, Rangers and police, were placed in four cordons. The spokesman said containers had not been placed in the city, except the venue of the public meeting.
Zardari hits out at Imran Khan
Former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, while speaking to party workers at Bilawal House on Sunday, said, “The ‘captain’ should go ahead and bowl; we are in no rush, when the pitch is fixed we will drop wickets as well.”
Referring to military ruler General Ayub Khan’s famed speech in 1965, Zardari warned against the emergence of “yet another leader who begins a speech with ‘mere azeez hum watano’."
He added that the “conspiracy” being hatched over the last four months would not derail democracy.
Hamza Ali Abbasi speaks out
Actor and PTI supporter Hamza Ali Abbasi was at the venue today, lauding PTI Chairman Imran Khan's "flexibility" in negotiations with the government.
Talking about the "rigged elections", Hamza said, "unfortunately, Khan has to take steps that stops the government's work."

Protesters who arrived from far and wide faced some difficulty in reaching the venue due to the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) countrywide strike, and some reported resistance by security forces. However, DawnNews reported that the capital's roads were by-and-large open and accessible.

Imran during a rally on Saturday, had outlined how his "plans" were organised:
‘Plan A’ was the sit-in outside parliament
'Plan B’ was the series of countrywide rallies
'Plan C' would be presented on November 30 [shutdown of cities, and country]
PTI supporters egged in Gujranwala
Unidentified young men threw eggs and tomatoes at Gujranwala PTI supporters who were en route to the capital for Imran Khan’s rally.
Infuriated party workers said two young men lobbed eggs and tomatoes at their cars and motorbikes as a convoy was headed to Islamabad. The PTI workers added that the two young men had fled the scene.

"The PTI rally today is seen as a critical next-step for the party, which has lost political mileage and steam." What has inspired you to write this. I hope it is not the Bank Doulat Pakistan printed paper. Or may be your area is worst effected by load-shedding.
Plan E would be the repetition of rigging in 2018. Alas, no constructive planning by a man who was once the hope of Pakistan. Totally occupied by Qureshis, Tarins and Sheikhs.
What was Plan 'A' and 'B' ?
Khan Ji please do deliver on your promises. We are scared because of history. We all may not trust you because of our past experiences with liars who have destroyed this country, but we have HOPE in you and you are the last hope.we have.
Why plan A,B,C,D............ It should be plan Alif, bay, pay, tay.... choti yay, bari yay. Wada Angrez.
It appears there will be fireworks today.
@The concerned : Plan E would be "Exit from Pakistan" unless he's on ECL.
may be in the eyes of some old fashioned reporter's methodology PTI have lost political mileage and steam... in contrast, nation is in an upbeat moot.
nevertheless, IK/PTI have opened eyes of entire country and now hawkish people in media on certain party's payroll are trying to hoodwink the nation by such above mentioned mental weakness as shown in this article.
we are not worried, focus on what's happening around in the country ever since sit-ins commenced.
Where is he getting the money for all this?
Watching TV will be so boring tonight...
We do not mind even party makes plans Z also. We will not let Mian Bros and Zardaris rule this country at their will. We will keep protesting. Its better die fighting than die sitting. IK we love you more by every passing day. You are the real representative of masses...
@a ali : We ARE focusing on the country. Other than the disruptions of traffic, loss of business, unnecessary noise at night, baseless slogans of no consequence and damage to public and private property, what has happened? You should be worried because you have run out of options. You failed to understand Pakistani politics. Bhutto took advantage of the nation at its most vulnerable time of defeat and humiliation. That's not the case right now. Wrong leader, wrong time, wrong methodology and hence a complete failure.
The readers expect DAWN to report the political events in a neutral manner. Lately the paper has been showing an anti-PTI stance both in its reporting and the selection of comments which are posted.
@Moona : Very good question. Every body should raise this issue. start with investigation of Shaukat Khanum.
We are with you Imran Khan. Long live Pakistan.
@Mohammed ... Hahahahha alaaa !!!
@Munir Varraich Not true. Dawn is balanced in portraying the views of the country that simply views U turn khan poorly
Public awareness and a political awkening of the entire nation is the only positive that has come out of this (which in itself is the best thing to happen for the democracy right now). That being said PTI rallies are being funded by someone or group. Wat. What is the end to it. What prevedent is PTI trying to set. March to the capital with a mob and kick an elected PM out. Ik can and should expect the same if he does not deliver if he comes to power. And food for thought who is running the kPK right now. And is the common man in KPK going the vote for PTI in the next elections.
A for Apple. B for ball. C for cat out of the bag. D. Oh wait we are at C. Atleast the children are learning thier ABC
@The concerned only one qureshi, one tarin. Sheikh is not part of PTI.
Plan D = Dump politics.
IK has already done the damage to the status quo by political awareness of the masses. He has nothing to loose now.
All of IKs plans are hurting the poor country only that needs stability. IK must understand that he is not playing a game and therefore he needs to get mature if he wants to stay in ploitics
Lets ee even for 1 night khan and his party can sustain the winter. Let see. Previous impetus was provided by Qadri.
The whole exercise has become a joke!
IK needs a plan E i.e. an Exit strategy!
IK is facing an innings defeat!
No pain no gain. Keep it up mighty K, sooner or later this government and system would crack. Only a matter of time. You do what you have to do.
So Imran agrees that he is planning to bring the govt down!
Thats called conspiracy in some countries.
What ever the outcome the women are having fun and they love IK. Having had so many disappointments from their men in this country IK is like a breath of fresh air for them. They today can dance and sing freely openly in front of all the cameras. That alone is a step forward for a conservative society like Pakistan at least some of the women have this freedom now and the rest will follow.
Can anybody tell me why drones cameras have been banned? Why cable operators stop showing the ary samaa tv in most places in Punjab and surrounding areas. Why ji is stopping people coming from Peshawar to Islamabad?? People are not stupid it's a fight of lies and truth
AoA. It is time for all policital parties that are in dispute about the election results to sit down around a negotiating table and resolve the issue quickly in the best long term interests of Pakistan.
Practically these jalsas have turned into entertainment parties. Thank you IK for providing high quality entertainment to Pakistan and that also televised 'live.'
If these people always do rallies, then when do they work for the people? And all these supporters, do they have no jobs or business? There is no patriotism in their faces. It seems this strike and rally business is their favourite time pass. Thirdly, where do they get so much money for these rallies? I thought Imran Khan being a professional cricketer will professionally work as CEO in his province and help it develop very fast. If he works well, people of Pakistan any way will vote him wholeheartedly to come to power. This fellow seems to be taking the entire nation for a princely ride and not letting elected government to work peacefully.
Plan D would be to close the show and go home
Plan C: take the dharna protests to overseas Pakistani. Imran khan will go to different cities across the world on a dharna trip. That will be a good way out. Just need to be careful of the eggs and tomatoes overseas as well.
Considering how lame Plan A & B were, i half expect Imran Khan to start singing "La Resistance" From South Park Movie...
We have "D" in 4 month, at this rate we should reach "Z" by may 2018. Good calculation by kuptaan!!!!!
Imran you
Imran you are fast losing my support. Just leave it now stop damaging the economy in the hunt for power.
Thank God he is announcing his directory of PLANS in ENG letters, I wonder what If the language was Cambodian with 74, Thai 76, or Tamil 247 letters.
@Spock it's called anarchy Mr.Spock
@Moona I live in Jeddah and contribute to it. Millions like me in and out of Pak support him. No let me ask, from where NS and Zardari go money to buy palaces and empires in UK and Switzerland. Allah aap ko sehee ko jamchnay kee taufiq day.
Thankfully, IK didn't discuss about plan F. He's still in plan C
Meaningless Plan C or Plan D. This man should be thrown in the dungeons and locked up for good. What a waste of space.
@Spock - "Thats called conspiracy in some countries." Well, in those countries, elections are held fair and mandate is given to the person who was voted for.
Imran Khan should act discreetly and call off this dharna as he will never be able to achieve his objective of Nawaz Sharif's resignation before end of the present term unless ousted by the military. What Imran has to realise is that politics and power is a game of patience and he should have necessarily waited for his turn rather than holding the whole country to ransom.
@rehan Haha you're being ironic, right?
@Last Word - This is exactly the problem with people like you. A game of patience is not the same thing as a rigged game. Once you understand the difference, you will start thinking differently.
Building roads means creating jobs and jobs for people means providing food for their families. IK I answered your question and my question to you is how you are going to provide food for the people?
Ik, please go home, you are not the only one who care for the people, but you are the only one who got mad after finding yourself not in PM seat. If this is the only you have in your life's, then you will be very disappointed.
Seems every day that goes by, he is making Sharif more nervous. IK is a challenge to dynastic political families of Raiwind and Larkana. If they want to counter him, why don't Nawaz Sharif and Zardari come out of prime minister house and Bilawal house respectively and face the public ? All they do is speak to rented crowd.
Anarchy is name of the game.
He seem to have no sympathy for the dead. JuF lost their man and he is accusing them of stopping PTI. LOL
There should not be let up Imran! That is only the way to paralyze and pull down the present structure.
I am just concerned Pakistan is on its way to become the next Libya or Egypt. I do not have a good feeling about this guy's intentions.
Paralyze major cities and shutdown the country. This is definitely helping the country and the common go for it PTI, then again what do you expect from a party filled with "clowns and contradictions" that's the real plan C.
He wants to negotiate with the gov at gun point.
Has he given a thought to the plight is daily wage earners with his call for a shut down. There is no future if one cannot survive the present. If everyone has to make sacrifices, Imran should pull his kids out of schools in London, bring them to Pakistan and have them participate in the sacrifices. This is now nonsensical more than comical speeches of Imran Khan, Sheikh Rashid and Qureshi.
I m waiting for plan Z, may be marriage with Meera and move to Dubai.
@Mohammed bhai you make my day
@Moona You want to know where he is getting the money. I, a Pakistani, is paying for this along with so many of my other concerned citizens. And we will keep bankrolling it until we reach our goals, and free our land.
That is the last step
Imran Khan repeatedly said from his container that " I will not leave this place till Nawaz Sharif resigns" . Tonight PTI will be leaving D chock. The circus is shifting to other cities. The circus will continue till he keeps on getting audiences.
People of Islamabad will be relived . Why is he not taking this circus to KPK. Why the people of Sindh and Punjab made to suffer.
Acer and time waste both good comments
What a waste of a leader and his followers. Wish IK had the vision to utilize his and his followers energies and efforts in the positive direction to deliver some thing beneficial for the country
Anyway it was like a fun fest. People were enjoying the moment. Trust me Pakistan can't be changed.
What a chaotic and uncertain country....Kashmiris.....do u really want to join them ???
This guy has lost it completely....
@zafar Wow, cabbies make so much money? :-)
Wow what a plan! The whole nation held their breath only to hear this non sense. Greeed for power has no limits.
Well done Ik. Question is not why he is shutting down pakistan, it is why can't government investigate the rigging???? If anyone here can elaborate why government doesn't want to investigate......the election and the rigging?? My basic right of voting is taken away from me......How am i supposed to express my right as a citizen of Pakistan? why is my right snatched away from me...?? If no one can answer, then imran is right to shut down pakistan....???? Power with the people, not with individuals........Imran khan last hope of pakistan....
@zafar Then you and "other concerned citizens" must have questionable means of income.
A decision by a person whom no one wants to give justice...cities closing call by a leader who doesn't want to let his nation in front of these hypocrite politicians to get slaughtered...! A big decision...selfless politics..! Salute u Imran Khan!
@Jadoo Imran should be taken seriously since he is emotionally attached to youth.
on 16 December 1971 Naya Pakistan was created by late ZAB
@Moona from his supporters.
Why, why, and why govt does not want to probe election 2013 and bring reforms??
@Real Truth Hahaha good one :)
@Moona "Where is he getting the money for all this?"
I am assuming that the umpires are behind all this tamasha.
IK: you were our hope, now you are a liability for Pakistan. Please dissociate yourself from Sheikh Rashid, Qureshi and Waderas (Tareens and Qusuris).
@farhat His supporters must be smoking something potent.
@jahangir Khan You don't know the courage and determination of PTI supporters. If they can hold on for 110 days so it is not difficult for them to pass a chilly night in Islamabad.
@Moona As an overseas Pakistani, I donate dollars each month. So do most others I know. He is the only hope Pakistan has.
Bravo PTI, this is SO what we need right now! Brilliant idea!
"On Thursday (December 4), I will go to Lahore and shut it down. On December 8 I will shut down Faisalabad; on December 12 I will go to Karachi and shut it down. By December 16 I will close down all of Pakistan." Thus spake Imran Khan. Sir, December 16 (1971) was the day Pakistan broke up. So it's natural for you to select this date to paralyze the country!
@Moona - Actually, it is people like you who are living in your own world. You seem to have no issue with the status quo where apart from extreme corruption, the elder brother always becomes the PM, the younger brother will always be the CM of Punjab, the brother-in-law will always take the Finance Minister post, the sons and nephews will always be MNAs or MPAs, the daughter, who has no qualifications whatsoever is made in charge of Rs. 1 billion fund and had to be instructed by the court to relinquish that fund. What do you call this setup? The Sharifs treat it as a family-owned business and that "might" be okay if they had any qualifications or sincerity towards the country. These are utterly inept people and the not-so-distant history has proven it time and again.
@Aly khan! Dude its JUF not JI, JI is your coalition partner in KPK, please dont blame them. :-)
I finally sat down today infront of the TV and listened to the whole speech of IK. By God everything he said about the current system, past and future predictions makes sense and it can only come from a man with a vision and knowledge. It is something one cannot and should not ignore as if we carry on with the same system we will never progress and nothing will change and our generations will be in a bigger mess then we are right now. Looking at the present state of Pakistan I believe we have nothing to lose and in that case we should give this guy a chance.
waiting for plan Z for Zoo .God knows what will happen to our beloved country.
PTI not having enough caliber to shut down any city be it lahore, khi, faisalabad or even mianwali.............forget that they can shut down entire Pakistan. This call will harm IK own reputation than PML(N), I feel its time he should take back his party resignation, sit in Parliament, try to become a opposition leader and than pressurize PML(N) by playing active role of opposition in Parliament and work for the betterment of the country.
Crying child begging for attention keeps raising his pitch. IK sounds the same.
@MS You do realize that you are contributing to anarchy and the derailment of democracy in Pakistan? Thankfully IK's supporters are not in the millions--we all know that.
Inshallah ,,,,,plan c will also work,,,just like plan A,,jalsa,,,,,plan B dharna If he can do a jalsa in larkana he will do plan c as well
IK, bravo, i know truth will pevail. Insha Allah
@Faisal What makes you so sure? Look at what he's doing!
Imran khan always criticized MQM whenever they gave call for strike karachi gets shutdown as a result but now he himself is promoting same thing.....
Another string of deadlines by Imran Khan when today was supposed to be "the final showdown".
"Youth is easily deceived because it is quick to hope" - Aristotle.
@Moona - "Thankfully IK's supporters are not in the millions--we all know that." Yes, this is exactly why people like you live in dreamland and oblivious to the facts around you.
I'm waiting for Plan Z.
Good job!
IK is the only hope against status quo and family politics
Accepting a rigged election is what most commentators arguing.. we have been accepting rigged elections for the last 40 years and see where we are standing at the moment. WE have no choice other than to throw this corrupt mafia who are filling their pockets and sending money abroad.
Dec 16th??? really. That is the fall of Dhaka in 1971. Shows IK immaturity. That day is lauded by our enemies.
Ummmm....he will turn off the switch I guess!!
@Moona look at what nawaz and zardari have done.
It's time to stand by IK for Naya Pakistan. Now or never.
@akram I need not money to run the country now but i need justice. we stand with IK for that.
yes
Justice system is Pakistan is not working. Status quo forces do not want to change it as it is beneficial to them. Imran is the leader who is challenge the status quo.
@Mushahid Its not IK defeat, It is the defeat of Pakistani Youth. They should be ready to serve Nawaz and Zardari Children and stop complaining.
@Zaida Parvez Agree. IK is just wasting his time with this nation who wants to have leaders like Nawaz and Zardari.
@Desi Dimag I agree. Pakistanis deserve Rulers like Nawaz and Zardari
How can we point fingers at our enemies when our own politicians are damaging us everyday
@Moona ------People from all over the world support PTI. I am just one of thousands of professionals who trust their money with PTI.
@A shah Can you explain how Imran is damaging the country ? Thanks in advance
In democracy, peaceful protests is the right of EVERY citizen. If PTI wins the next elections and 200 thousand PML-N supporters protest for rigging again, that will be a right too. Remember what goes around can also come around.
@Time waste How can you work for people when the nation is caught with a disease?
Here is my decision: If the movement fails (God forbade me), i wouldn't stay in Pakistan.
Listening to him and his bankrupt plan to jam the whole country, I have an uneasy feeling that IK is going to be the Gorbachev of Pakistan.
Declare Pakistan a secular country. Abolish Zamindari. Impose wealth tax at 2% of one's wealth above 20 crores. Limit to 5 acres of land a person and his wife can hold at any time. Cap salaries and benefits of politicians to 2 times of the lowest paid civil servant, policeman, army jawan.
Keep up Imran Sahib. We want you as PM
@Moona very true and we should understand this.....
Save pakistan give one day rule to this Nizam Saqa - the Imran Khan. Let his wish to sit in Prime minister's seat fulfill.
If there is rigging, then best course is to take the matter to the court with proof and let the legal system takes its course, The present agitation is road to tyranny, a method Mr. Jinnah would have condemned. Imran Khan action even beats Bhutto agitation against Ayub Khan. If history has to be compared he sounds as if he is Pakistani Adolf Hitler. Can he swear on the Holy Book that his people did not cast a single bogus vote?
King Imran of PTI wants to build Naya Pakistan on ashes of Pakistan. He should build his party, create a wide public contact campaign, act as a responsible opposition which works to advance his country every day regardless of difference with the current ruling party, and claim credit for the advancement at the time of next election. Kings emotions and ego is controlling the better half of him. In civilized democracies the all parties have an unflinching faith in the betterment of their country. Nothing like Kings verdicts. Does he ever consult his party on these matters? I don't see these plans originating from thoughtful policies of an intelligent group of peoples.
@Ganga Din Ganga and Mona Et Al.. You really want to know where the money comes from? It comes from Pakistanis living abroad, who want to see a change in the country from the 2 family system. I hope that satisfies your curiosity.
@Munir Varraich - Well dawn is doing what exactly is happening ... i dont feel they are Anti-PTI ... though they have all the good reasons to be one.
@Uzma syeda What' wrong with NS? He is a successful businessman, a practical man unlike Ik, a player and entertainer. Every country needs a practical leader and not an actor or entertainer.
Time for Plan "S". Iski shaadi karado yaaro
@zafar I agree with you.
We all for Imran Khan.
InshAllah pti will succeed.
I can only pity IK for his wishful thinking .
@Ava Let's not allow IK to become Gorbachov of Pakistan for the sake of Jinnah's Pakistan.
I hope sanity prevails in the end, creating anarchy is a recipie for disaster!
I want to ask all IK,s critics 1)Why govt is not ready to probe election 2013? 2)When courts and election tribunals are silent on election rigging and govt is not ready to probe election 2013 then what options IK have except this???
@Lucky Star Yes Please. Pakistani dont deserve leaders like IK. They deserve Leaders like NS and ZARDARi.
@Ganga Din and Moona & many more - PTI gets money from numerous fundraising campaigns across the globe. Put your hand on your heart and tell us how PPP and PML fund their political activities - from public money if you are scratching your heads with the other hand. We finance PTI with our money and will not shy away from any sacrifice.
PS: I am a donor myself and know many who have set up monthly direct debit for years. Just to give you an example, more than £130,000 was raised in less than an hour within a small circle of friends in Manchester a week before election last year when funds were urgently required.
so sorry for IK, no way out for him now,IK is talking about shutting diwn Pak why dont govt shut down PTI problem solved
Anyone remember the desperate calls by PTI in Aug and Sep for people to come out on roads. Hardly a leave stirred. What has changed now. Just a way to keep PTI in news fir another couple of weeks.
@Munir Varraich I don't think this is a biased article. I am a PRI supporter and most of the article is just quoted speech. I did not seem to think it is using an anti-PTI policy... Maybe the way you are reading you are feeling so. Please try to understand what exactly is writing a biased article...
All hails to a new Pakistan
Mehkan
@MS Agree.
Traveled 5 hours to vote for PTI......wanted a prosperous KPK....IK wasn't interested .....didn't get it.....:( will do it myself....:)
@Last Word so in your words, he should wait despite wide spread corruption. The point is, if NS was really elected by the masses, no one would have a problem (well they would, but everyone would accept it), however there is serious doubt that NS got all the votes he said he did. In which case you can't just let things go. If a crime has been committed you need to get justice rather then waiting it out.
Shut down the country? And what are the common people supposed to do after that? What about the loss of revenue, loss of wages, loss of earnings? What about the poor, the sick, the elderly, the people who need emergency medical attention? What about the people who live on day to day earnings? What about the businesses he plans on shutting down along with the entire country?
A change is vital for the prosperity of pyara Pakistan. Now which leader can bring this change? I can only see a ray of hope in IK. I see truth in his words and hope of naya Pakistan in his eyes.
Zardari speaking for Nawaz!!!! That's it for me.. I am with Imran Khan now
if the Plans are to paralyze Pakistan, then I must very regretfully conclude that Imran is working for Pakistan's enemies, and not for Pakistan. This country needs to work, not be paralyzed.
@Moona people like me donate money, because we believe PTI is the right party for Pakistan. i live abroad. even if I donate $100 every quarter, this means PTI gets PKR 10,000 every quarter. this is how political parties get money in the UK, USA, and Canada.
PML N and PPP don't seek donations from their supporters. perhaps they are rich politicians and have family money.
donations ensure that the politicians we elect don't try to loot our national exchequer to refill their coffers.
@Noodle Give it a rest. There is no PMLN walas to be seen anywhere - not even in Lahore!
@Osman Din Why you are using a military sign to express your political views??
IK mentioned he has plan D well what better place to declare plan D than in D chouk.
Plan 'C' = Chaos
And the date is also ideal; Dec. 16.
Pakistanis remember what happened on Dec. 16, 1971.
We voted for PTI to bring change not a chaos.
@Malik At the cost " if you can't beat them, join them".
Will any informed reader tell whether there is any truth in Mian Imran Khan's allegation that the polls which elected Nawaz Shariff as the PM was indeed, rigged.
Gujrawalla is the epitome of pml-n mentality.
Just make sure, you do it before plan "Z".
@alladitta No plan is workable fire work . One is acting like general yahya and the other Mujeeb. IK U have to work more. Do not listen any bugger mediator liker Malik.. If PPP would have like one IK no one could hang Bhutto. Keep moving forward and God bless U.
@roarwali "Here is my decision: If the movement fails (God forbade me), i wouldn't stay in Pakistan."
Yes, U.S. and U.K. have opened their doors for Pakistanis who want to emigrate to their countries. Get your citizenship on arrival.
This is becoming more and more like Indian disruptive political party - Aam Aadmi which had good intentions but failed miserably.
@Mohammed : hilarious Janab ji
@Jasim Khan : What ever IK or NWZ or COAS,or TTP are doing is the handy work of India or Israel. ISI need to find it to relieve the common Pakistanis from this musical chair competition.
Imran don't loose ur senses.no mad man like u can paralyse our dear homeland.dont treat politics as cricket.shah mahmood qureshi will ruin u.
Imran Khan is nothing but a RUBBISH person.
Shah mahmood qureshi Or Imran khan?Who is auther oF plan c?
May Allah save us from these immature politician, Imran should try to fulfil his promises in KPK (NWFP) and be role model for next election. Seems working on someone else agenda to destabilize Pakistan.
is this supposed to be a pro Pakistan move/plan?
ACTIONS soeak louder than WORDS. Please do some work for betterment of KPK. Then entire nation will be with you
I am not a Pakistani but Mr Khan, this is not how a leader should behave. You should be fighting to clean up the electoral process rather than fighting the current mob to resign. The real issue is these agitations may provide some short term gains politically but it would be too hard for you to come out of this mould and govern if you get a chance. History has proven beyond doubt people who got power by agitation (even when the causes were compelling and very valid) failed to deliver when they had absolute power.
Very soon there will be a plan "D" "E" "F" "G" all the way to "Z". Once he runs out of alphabets, he will start with "AA" "AB" "AC" you know what I mean.
This will be a never ending cycle and Mr. Nawaz will still be he in charge.
Arshad Hassan
And who's responsible for the costs of providing security and disruption to local businesses and lost wages of day laborers? Shows how much the Dear Leader cares.
I agree with plan 'C' of Imran. In order to crack the present government at this time, some stronger actions are necessary. Some inconvenience will have to be faced, but that is worth the cause. Guys, show some guts.
IK is doing Army's bidding. Making Youthias in the process.
Just saw the clippings of IK's address! Comical!!!!
@ihsan agree
@BRIJ I think you meant to say that he is emotionally and mentally still a teenager?
@roarwali thank you. Please leave now. Do not forget to tip the waiter in the airport's VIP lounge.
@MS how convenient for you to fund a campaign to shut down Pakistan because I assume that you will be playing a flute in Jeddah as Pakistan is set on fire by PTI. Thank you for your misguided efforts to derail Pakistan's democracy. Try shutting down your city and see what happens to you.
@Faiza G. R. Bhatt Not because in western societies there are strict audit requirements for political funding which are enforced as well. IK has a shadowy record when dealing with donations like playing satta with shaukat khanam donations. Its your money and burn it if you will but at least ask PTI to provide independent financial audit statements.
@Faiza G. R. Bhatt All I can say is that you people have no brains.
who is making these plans?... who is paying imran? who will face the consequences of these plans?. is'nt it so easy to gather a. mob than to start some factories in kpk?.. i visited kpk recently there was no project of any kind in abbotabad and mansehra even in other major cities. What's changing in kpk?.. I want answer from imran and his supporters? I know the time when pti workers blocked the road and only travelors and drivers were affected. we had to bear the intense heat on road in june. i also know the womens in my area who got payment for staying in dharna?.. whats this i dont understand?. am not supporting the government but i am telling what is causing problems for us?.. I remember the time when each and every person was against musharf , Zardari, pmlq but now a days i am observing lot of people praising them. we feel our present more and forget our past?..
Imran Khan, keep putting pressure on the incompetence, embarassing, pathetic, and corrupt PML-N regime. Its about time we demand accountability...which thus far, we have had a habit of just letting things go, and simply accepting corruption...a common refrain among PML-N folks is, "well, this is just how it is."
Politics of the past are over. This time, no justice...no peace
yeh mulk hum sab kay baap ka hay, is liye hamara Haq hay kay isay kholain ya bund karain
@anwar rathore Thank you very much for your comments... This will be the first strike in the history of Pakistan.. Please grow up!!
@az Wow!!! this will be the first time in the history of Pakistan that a strike will close the country. We were and are under prosperity for last 70 years.
IK has totally lost his direction. He must step back, take a pause, and review whether he is harming the country's economy and attitude of young people. Misleading young people is the easiest thing that IK is done successfully so far but at a big cost for the country.
The entire country is in trouble anyway...shut it down
@Farooq what qualifies him? His ability to throw a ball at a grown man? His judgement is clearly flawed for supporting people like sheikh rasheed. His morality is highly questionable for not ACKNOWLIDGING a daughter. He has failed to deliver in KPK. He has broken his word several times in the near future and if his mother were around she would have washed his mouth with a soap. Are we so desperate in Pakistan that this is the best we can do?
We r with you Imran Khan. God bless you. Ameen
To all Pakistani!, this is not cricket and IK asked people a civil disobediance and that will hurt Pakistan now and as well as in future. We have to be Pakistani first and this is not write for Pakistan.
Keep up the great work imran khan!
Agree with you Khan.
This is the worst plan yet !
First of all I think about a time when our leader Quaid-e-Azam was recognized in entire world and every Pakistani trusted him and his judgment. Quaid-e-Azam was a leader with enthusiastic with committed team, and entire nation supported him to build this country, but unfortunately the nation didn’t had a good leader after Quid-e-Azam.
Now at present era people don't want to trust the present politician, because of their undoings. IK with his 18 years of political career he build his credibility among the Pakistani nation, who trusted him what they can see. He is open and honest, whereas other politicians are crook, corrupt and dishonest. I may be wrong but if we see, since 19 47, Pakistan creation, where we stand and if we see China where they are now and they got independence just after creation of Pakistan. I think if you are honest then there will be no hurdles and if you are dealing with a dishonest people that are never pleasant. I was wondering what type of dishonesty politicians we are having and how they would behaves in future?
If IK is demanding to investigate the ballot papers then the government stance should be to investigate, because it will be beneficial for entire Pakistan, but since ragging was engineered intentionally by the concern, then why they accept this kind of demand. So Ik should not let those politicians to join PTI and IK should get those honest young people, who really have credibility and character, who can lead this nation in future, because nation had example of Javed Hashmi.
IK needs to watch out for the next move as change of mood in supports and jalsa is very obvious. Concentrate to prove the good and corrupt free management in KPK Running out of plans. except it and make your strategy accordingly Check corruption in your team. Incoming money, news about money coming from shrine, military, businesses and foreign interests would soon be on media
IK Come out of rhetoric and foul languages and proof your mantle in KPK management. Otherwise you will be doing same thing beyond 2018.
@ahmed. "Zardari speaking for Nawaz!!!!" Verifies the famous axiom," you scratch my back I will scratch yours".
I have a question for the critics: Is plan C an action or reaction to the govt negligence????
My simple question. If, on 4th Dec, in Lahore I want to go to my work place on my car, will PTI workers allow me to move and come back from any way of my choice? If answer is YES, i have no objection on this move. If answer is NO, i have every objection on this move :-)
Can we get rid of this JI and religious bully type of politics. You guys never have majority but even few distrup peace and don't bring country to shame.
good job and we fully support IK for naya pakistan
IK we will always support you for the betterment of our country..... Cheap 'PATWARIS' can criticise women by making any allegations they feel like
@Dr chachar MOODI
@Moona Donations from local and expat Pakistanis. Any other questions?
PTI is in hurry playing all its card one after the other which is wrong. it also shows that the purpose is something else. 16th December announcement will bounce back and prove a big mistake because it is otherwise a black day for Pakistan when we lost half of our country due to similar political differences and a Nizai general hailing from Mianwali surrendered in Dacca. we all want change we all want third force to come but we don't want de stablising the country and don't want to set unconstitutional examples which would become a regular feature and ultimately we the public would be the sufferers. let every one to come on his turn and we would happily select PTI our next choice in the coming elections.
Instead of getting into lengthy discussions, just one question why PML N does not let the recount take place on the four constituencies as requested by PTI. Be it IK or NS let the culture of transparancy develope.
It is significant Imran has revealed Plan C upping a gear from peaceful container politics going nowhere to confrontational politics. The closures of three cities Lahore, Faisalabad and Karachi may play havoc with the economy reminding the Court to perhaps intervene as Court has a duty as protector of Constitution to uphold the fundamental rights of people its entitlement to a free and transparent election with the Voter right guaranteed to freely choose a candidate to represent him or her in Government. The Government has used the Court service to prevent an audit of the vote count an abuse of process which the Court may want to immediately redress.
Imran you want to shut down whole country for what? Let me tell you your plan A B C or XYZ will not make any Difference what so ever. Most daily earner cant work and family will suffer.. PM Mr Nawaz Sharif will remain in POWER. Matter of fact he is the best PM for people of Pakistan. May Allah BLESS PM Mr. Nawaz Sharif (Aameen) Sincewrely , Ashraf Mirza (USA) ashwmirza@yahoo.com
@The concerned please stop calling yourself "The Concerned" because you are clearly not!
@Ganga Din Thank god he doesnt understand Pakistani politics.
IK you plan shut downs in other cities, meanwhile in the country of India is progressing by leaps & bounds under Modi, you are taking Pakistan back to stone age, God Luck! !
tareekh pe tareekh pe tareekh!!!!!!!!!!! lol!!!!!
Plan A was Sit-In Plan B Sit-In +Jalsa now C is paralyse major cities 1st and then last one on 16 dec Paralyse whole pakistan
Pakistan indeed needs a new start and I hope Imran can do it.
If the issue is really investigating the rigging, then PTI is already in Supreme Court and the court is hearing PTI's petition on the issue. If the Supreme Court decides in PTI's favor, the Government will fall. So let the court decide. This undue haste to bring the country to s stand still in order to topple the Government smacks of naked hunger for power and nothing else.
@Zeeshan I agree with you, but then I have a question for you. Where is your responsibility as citizen of Pakistan? Shouldn't you stand against corruption which has direct impact on everyone including yourself. This country wouldnt change until start standing for others not just for ourselves.
Meanwhile in India Arvind Kejriwal is trying to revive Aam Admi Party and thinking where should I go for next Dharna? Whom should I accuse for being corrupt? How to plan next big drama to be in the medua lime light again? Thanks Imran for inspiration!!
@iz At his age, no chance of being teenager. Imran Khan seems to have gone senile. Sad to see such a promising rise and such a disastrous fall.
Mr Khan Where is shut down in Quetta
@iz His honesty and love for Pakistan makes him the most suitable candidate. You can fix the problem of incompetence but you cant do anything if a person is dishonest. If you question IK’s morality than I wonder what moral values you see in NS and Zardari. Yes we are desperate for a good leader as we have had enough of the same corrupt and dishonest politicians who we have tried and tested several times. If not IK than please tell me of the next best available option.
Pakistan is currently ruled by one of the most incompetent, corrupt regimes in the world. PML-N has no vision beyond metrobus and roads. Its one of the silliest forms of development.
Absolutely nothing in healthcare, education, or any form or electoral reform.
Nawaz, keep burying your head in the sand. Eventually the public anger will get so strong, it will be too late. This is the time for an open, impartial inquiry into the 2013 election.
This government is weak because they lack a true mandate.
While I m not in favor of proposed shutdown I also don't see Nawaz Sharif taking a bold step by resigning from his office while investigations into rigging are completed. NS has got a historic opportunity to prove his popularity but looks like he lacks self confidence. Shutdown may cost the masses heavily especially wage earners but I see light at the end of the tunnel. This country needs to get rid of all sorts of royalties, political dynasties and VIP culture. we need to work without corruption and favoritism. Those who steal from public exchequer those who get large sum of monies from banks and financial institutions and default with no genuine reasons need to be tried and ask to return the ill-gotten wealth. Who will do it? PMLN or PPP who are beneficiaries of status quo?
Why do you need enemies (India) when you have leaders as Imran? This is coming from Indian, Any democracy is worthless without proper opposition in parliament, if Imran does not understand this fundamental aspect of democracy and wants power at any cost, Pakistan is better of with military rule, a huge spending on conducting election will be saved and you can buy few more guns from America and China
Following the London "The Million March" triumphantly attended by several hundred people, was this the "The Ten Million March and Demonstration"?
@akram Lol like he cares for your support.
Doesn't sound very nationalistic.
Despite of alot of losses due to this Dharna.. The partnership and backdoor frdshp b/w PPP & PML has been badly exposed....The entire nation now knew the frdshp b/w Sindhi Wadeera and Punjabi Jageerdaars who wants to support each other inorder to keep ruling turn by turn.....
@Jasim Khan look at his record in KP http://www.dawn.com/news/1146772/kp-govt-admits-higher-crime-terrorism-incidence
What is the rationale behind December 16? Is he reminding the nation of Dhakka's fall on December 16, 1971? December 16 is the worst day in the history of Pakistan.
what a mess....
"Actor and PTI supporter Hamza Ali Abbasi was at the venue today, lauding PTI Chairman Imran Khan's "flexibility" in negotiations with the government."
showed flexibility??? hilarious.
