QUETTA: Hundreds of Shia pilgrims coming from Iran reached Quetta from the border town of Taftan in tight security of the Frontier Corps and police on Wednesday evening.

Official sources said that 1,691 Shia pilgrims, including women and children, reached Pakistani border town of Taftan in Iranian buses.

Strict arrangements were made to provide security to the pilgrims during their stay in Taftan and Dalbandin.

They were brought to Quetta in a convoy of 28 buses in heavy security.

“Heavy contingents of the Frontier Corps, Police, Levies and Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF) escorted the pilgrims from Taftan to Quetta,” official sources said.
