ISLAMABAD: A case was registered against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday for staging demonstrations outside the building of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the federal capital.

The case was registered at the Secretariat Police Station in Islamabad.

On Oct 28, the PTI had staged a rally outside the ECP building on the call of PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

During his Oct 27 address, Khan had asked the participants of the sit-in to assemble outside the ECP office.

He said the current assembly, the prime minister and the government were not genuine because last year’s elections were massively rigged.

“We would have never given a call for protest had we succeeded in getting justice against poll rigging,” Khan had said.
