CHAKWAL: A woman was shot dead in Faisal Colony locality in Chakwal city on Saturday.

According to police sources, Firdous Akhtar, 72, a resident of Dharukna village, was living in Chakwal city at the house of her sister who is abroad.

Firdous’ niece Farzana Bibi was also living with her aunt. Farzana, who taught at a private school in the city, found her aunt dead when she came back home from school. “The woman was shot by an unknown assailant,” SHO Zarat Baloch said.

“Firdous was a retired school teacher and according to her niece, Farzana, they did not have any animosity with anyone,” the SHO added. He claimed that the killer would be traced soon. “We have started our investigation after registering a case,” he added.
