ISLAMABAD: All-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has fully recovered from a hand injury and is fit for next week's first test against Australia in the United Arab Emirates.
Earlier this month, Hafeez missed the one-off Twenty20 and the three one-day internationals against Australia after injuring his left hand during a practice match at Sharjah.
The Pakistan Cricket Board's doctor Sohail Saleem says Hafeez batted in the nets on Thursday for half an hour and showed no signs of discomfort.
Hafeez required five stitches and was sent back home for recovery at the National Cricket Academy. The first test starts in Dubai from next Wednesday, followed by the second test at Abu Dhabi from Oct 30.
Australia beat Pakistan in the one-off Twenty20 and whitewashed its opponent 3-0 in the ODI series.

He didn't play deliberately in ODIs being aware of the results. Moreover he does neither deserve to be a part of Tests squad nor ODIs as a batsman. Take a look on his batting average. He was the bone of contention to expel some Match winner veterans legends like Abdul Razaq. If you don't agree with me, then wait and see the results of Test Matches!

What is the use since he never performs against top class teams like Australia and South Africa? He can only shine against teams like Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. Better he is kept in waiting list and given some chores like carrying drinks to the field. Hope his recovered hand allows hime to do the same.

I totally agree with you mate i never liked this street cricketer Mohammad Hafeez he destroyed Abdul Razzaq's career he has never been a batsmen look at his avg not even a single 100 v Australia Sa or Eng if this guy stays then there is no hope for young talent like Harris Sohail and all other youngsters Pakistan cricket politics at its best go waqar go go moin khan go.

What was the exact Injury can any one clarify? Fracture/ sprain/ ligament/ what was it? If u can hold and wield a bat I am sure u can bowl too

He can only perform against weak teams on slow/dead wickets.
Australian bowling will be too much for him even on these wickets.

Let him be in the playing XI and get scores of 0, 3, 1, 0 in the 4 innings of 2 Tests. That 'might' just embarrass those who pick him.

this guy is the worst excuse of a cricketer. Been playing for a decade, yet look at his batting average. In any other country, he would be eating dust a long long time ago. Only in Pakistan,him & Afridi would keep popping back in again & again.

Bad move to bring him back. The reason he was left out in the 1st place was because all the offspinners were getting banned and HAfeez will be needed in the World Cup. To bring him back now, PCB is risking ban on Hafeez as well.
All the offspinners who don't play for Eng, Aus, or Ind should be hiding out somewhere.

Hafeez will open with Ahmad Shehzad. In the absebce of Ajmal, Paksitan has no off spinner other than Hafeez. He is a must in the given situation.

Isn't there something called match practice? He hasn't played in a while, so is he match ready against the lethal Australian attack? I think double. Another 2 innings of less than 20 runs from Hafeez, if he opens. I Hope he doesn't play. But I think they are afraid, in the absence of Ajmal, he might get the nod.
