KARACHI: The two-day Deputy Commissioner South beach boxing tournament commenced at the Ustad Sattoo Stadium, Lyari, on Saturday.

As many as 41 upcoming pugilists from different districts of the city are competing in the event being held in nine weight categories — five of boys under-14 and four of juniors under-16 — classes respectively.

The finals will be held at the Clifton beach on Sunday.

Boys U-14 class:

36 kg: Ali Raza bt Mohammad Jamil 3-0

38 kg: Shahbaz bt Waqar 2-1

40 kg: Zohaib Rasheed bt Qamar Baig 3-0

42 kg: Mohammad Ismail bt Noman 2-1

44 kg: Sajid Rasheed bt Waqar 3-0

Juniors U-16 class:

46 kg: Abdul Basit bt Zain Gul 2-1; Ali Raza bt Vakil 3-0

48 kg: Noman bt Salman 2-1; Maimoon bt Asad 3-0

50 kg: Maaz bt Saad 2-1; Zohaib bt Shehroz 2-1

52 kg: Younus bt Rasheed 3-0; Zakir bt Yaqoob 2-1.
