KARACHI: The eighth all-Sindh National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) Cup basketball tournament will be staged at Arambagh floodlit court from Oct 19 to 26, a spokesman for the bank said on Thursday.

He said the weeklong event carries total prize money of Rs35,000 with winner getting Rs15,000 and runners-up taking home Rs7,000 besides subsidiary prizes.

He said seven teams of the city namely South (two), East, West, Malir, Central, and Korangi one each, will join five outfits of interior Sindh in the 12-team contest. Teams from Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Sukkur and Benazirabad will complete the line-up.

All the matches will be played under floodlit on league-cum-knockout format.

Former international Abdul Nasir, who is also Sindh Basketball Association secretary, has been named as organising secretary.
