PESHAWAR: At least four people were killed and three others injured in a US drone attack in the North Waziristan tribal region, security sources said.
Sources said the drone fired missiles targeting a vehicle in the Loman area of Dattakhel Tehsil. Today's strike is the fifth consecutive drone attack in the last five days, as the US-led drone campaign targets suspected militants and their hideouts in restive North and South Waziristan.
North Waziristan is among Pakistan’s seven tribal districts near the Afghan border which are rife with insurgents and are alleged to be strongholds of Taliban and Al Qaeda operatives, among others.
Pakistan's military in mid-June had launched an all-out operation, named 'Zarb-i-Azb', against Taliban militants in the region which is still under way.
Drone attacks are widely unpopular across Pakistan and according to survey conducted in June this year, 66 per cent of the country's citizens oppose these strikes.

Popular or unpopular in Pakistan but these attacks are continuing and these are likely to continue. One does not feel like to comment on these attacks.

I can see the change in mindset. Earlier so much hue and cry over drone attack, now it has become normal issue. Even it has been supported not only by Pakistan political and army elites, but by common people too. Better late than never, now they realise, there is no conspiracy.

Paki rulers have always behaved like SLAVES to the American rulers, while the Israelis bites the American hand which feeds it. Start shooting these drones down, and destroy the American warships in the Muslim region. Jewish owned American rulers are the ENEMY of Pakistan, none worse than Obama.

The external forces have caused this bloodbath since Pakistani rulers allowed Muslims to serve the West in expelling the Russians out of Afghanistan, and letting America use Pakistan since 9/11 to destroy the relative stability in Pakistan.

This needs to be seen in the context of Indo-US nexus and recent Obama and Modi meeting. This is no coincident that eastern border is hot and drone strikes started at the same time. Pakistan reply needs to be strong.

@Mira Morally speaking, you are absolutely right but who will put the bell around the cat's neck. You comment on something peculiar while these drone attacks are now routine happenings in FATA. It is human psyche to ignore the daily routine occurrences; how these attacks take place and who all are involved in their execution is a point to ponder and moot which is not an issue even in our media; that's why I suggested not to comment on these drone attacks. Please forgive, if I am wrong.
