Explosion in passenger van kills six in Kohat

PESHAWAR: Six people were killed and several injured in an explosion that took place in a passenger van in Kohat’s Peshawar Chowk area on Saturday.
Police confirmed the death toll, adding that at least 13 others were also injured in the blast which damaged two vehicles.
“The blast occurred at a small bus stop in Kohat city. At least two vehicles were damaged in the explosion,” Salim Khan Marwat, district police chief in Kohat, told AFP.
“The explosion has left six people dead and 17 injured,” he added.
Fazal Khaliq, head of the emergency department at Kohat's main government hospital, also confirmed the toll.
The explosion occurred along a roadside, police said, adding that it appeared to have been caused by an improvised explosive device.
No group has claimed responsibility for the blast as yet.

Today’s was the second attack on a passenger bus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the recent past with the first that took place in Peshawar killing seven people. The province is witnessing what appears to be a blowback from the military operation in the North Waziristan tribal region.
The provincial capital of Peshawar has also seen a sudden rise in attacks that have targeted police and military officials as well as civilian interests.

It is the job of some infidel even if he claims to be a Muslim because as per Quraan there is no forgiveness from Allah to those who have the blood of innocent Muslims on their hands. Surely such perpetrators will stand in the line of infidels on the Day of Judgment.

What sort of operation pak army is conducting for past 5-6 months is there for all to see! Every day their press release says 40 -50 millitants killed in air raids or land raids . N this is the result ! Very sad ! What sort of nation pakistan has become where 2-3 blasts r daily routine. When a nation is formed on basis of religion , it can not progress untill it becomes multireligious , tolerant . Pakistan is example. Failing economy , failing nationalism ( although it was hardly there from beignning ) , pathetic law n order , failing democracy, feudalism , sectarian violence , communal violence , target killings , lack of modern education , energy crisis , extremism , global terrorism ( remember osama ) . U name all the wrong reason n u will find it in pakistan . What is going on in pakistan ? Wake up pakistani citizen , take ur country on path of progress before its too late ! Don't put everything in name of god ! God helps those who help themselves ! N considering current state of pakistan it is clear that ur not helping urselves !

May their souls rest in peace. I don't understand why immediately after the first blast security measures hadn't been taken? Why can't the government or the bus owners arrange for a quick checking before anybody gets into the bus. I mean we can make passengers reach to their destination a bit slowly but at least that will ensure there are no explosives!

@Aysha You should be thankful to Allah that such blasts are not taking place in Punjab, it is also Pakistan no matter who rules over there. However the KPK government must leave musical dhrnas' avenue and they must come back to KPK to start taking care of this situation herein. KPK government bosses must also visit the heirs of victims, condole them, pay compensations to them and they should not rely on IGP KPK alone to keep issuing statements when such occurrences take place. Please think for the whole nation taking aside political differences

@Muneeb Fighting or negotiating with Taliban is the Federal Government's policy. If you want to ask questions then ask from N-League's central government. Asking KPK government this question is like asking a doctor why he couldn't maintain law and order. Pointing out flaws in the KPK government is one thing, which you certainly aren't doing, but criticism for the sake of criticism is another, which you certainly are doing. Again I would say it is time to sympathize with these people rather than blaming KPK government for no reason.
