Bizenjo & Qadri

Published September 24, 2014

DR Tahirul Qadri ordered his followers to print ‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogan on currency notes. After a few days he found out that his action was a serious offence.

During Ayub Khan’s regime a prominent political leader from Balochistan, the late Gous Baksh Bizenjo, was caught by law-enforcement agencies for possessing a currency note on which it was printed ‘One-Unit Murdabad’. He was prosecuted on a charge of treason and was imprisoned for 18 years.

It is a matter of concern for every Pakistani that when, under the law of treason, Mr Bizenjo was arrested, why hasn’t the same law been applied to Dr Qadri? Where is the writ of the government?
