QUETTA: Levies found two bullet-riddled bodies in Balochistan's troubled Turbat area on Tuesday afternoon.

Muhammad Irshad, a levies official told Dawn.com by telephone that local residents spotted two bodies in Pidark area of Turbat. "The bodies are yet to be identified", he said.

The official said a levies team was sent to shift the bodies to Civil Hospital Turbat for identification. "Both victims have received multiple bullets", Irshad said while quoting local people of the area.

Recovery of the bodies has come a day after three other bodies were found in Wadh Tehsil of Khuzdar district, where two of the victims had been identified.

According to our sources in Balochistan Home and Tribal Affairs Department, more than 50 bodies were recovered in Quetta and other towns of Balochistan during this year.

However, Baloch nationalists contradict the official figure and claim that the number of bodies was more than what was being quoted by the home department.

Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Malik Baloch has repeatedly stated that recovery of missing persons and an end to recovery of bodies was one of his government's top priorities.
