KARACHI: Judokas from District Central amassed 80 points to win the Defence Day Judo Championship held at the Karachi Martial Arts Centre the other day. District East finished runner-up wit a tally of 50 points while district Malir with 30 points finished third.

Amna Ali of district Central was declared ‘Best Fighter’.

The event was organised by the Sindh Judo Association (SJA) in collaboration with the Karachi City Judo Association.

SJA president Syed Wasim Hashmi, who graced the occasion, gave away the prizes.

Women’s:

Below 25 kg:

1-Amna Ali (Central), 2-Shanzey Zulfiqar (East), 3-Zunera Tariq (Malir)

Below 30 kg:

1-Alina Shariq (Central), 2-Isra Wasim (Malir), 3-Mukarma Shoukat (East)

Men’s:

Below 35 kg:

1-Farid Bin Nizami (East), 2-Usmanuddin (Central), 3-Kashan (South)

Below 40 kg:

1-Ali Rasheed (Central), 2-Waris Khan (South), 3-Ehtisham (East)

Below 45 kg:

1-Abdul Rauf (Central), 2-Osama Nisar (East), 3-Mustafa Ahmed (South)

Open:

1-Dilham Shah (Malir), 2-Abdul Rafar (Central), 3- Shahir Ahmed Khan (East).
