QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said that all available resources will be utilised for the welfare of people.

The chief minister was talking to tribal elders and political workers during his visit to Ziarat district on Saturday.

He said that cooperation of the residents of the city was critical to make Ziarat a hub of tourism, adding that his government would take concrete steps for the beautification of the city. He said all basic facilities would be provided to the city.

“The city of Ziarat is a national asset and the government will leave no stone unturned for reviving its natural beauty and providing it with all facilities,” he added.

The chief minister said the provincial government had discussed with the federal government several projects for Ziarat, including protection of the city’s juniper forests, solar system, Nakach Loralai road, Ziarat Valley Trust and construction of dams. He said a residential college in Ziarat would be opened soon.

He announced a grant of Rs10 million for Ziarat’s schools, two buses for the city’s educational institutions, three bulldozers for its farmers, a grant of Rs30 million for the city’s beautification and cleanliness, one ambulance for the district hospital and Rs500,000 each for Ziarat Press Club and District Bar Council.

The chief minister stressed the need for improving enrolment of children in schools.

“We need to bring change in our behaviour and attitude,” the chief minister said while talking about those government schoolteachers who did not perform their duties with honesty.
