QUETTA: Five people were gunned down in separate incidents and two personnel of the Balochistan Constabulary suffered injuries in a grenade attack here on Friday.

According to police, gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire at a meat shop near Wapda Colony in Sariab road area, killing three people on the spot.

“It appears to be targeted killing,” a senior police officer said, adding that investigation was in progress.

In the other incident, two people were shot dead late on Thursday night. According to police, Abdul Nasir and Abdul Sadiq, residents of Mashkel town of Washuk district, were going home in their car. When they reached Jan Mohammad Road area, unidentified men opened fire on them. The motive behind the killing could not be ascertained.

Meanwhile, militants attacked a vehicle of the Balochistan Constabulary with a hand-grenade in Raisani Road area. The grenade exploded near the vehicle, injuring two BC personnel, identified as Mohammad Ishfaq and Amjid Khan. They were taken to the Civil Hospital.
