KARACHI: Moin Sheikh and Mohammad Jamal produced excellent performances to help Orangi Star CC qualify for the KCCA Zone-VI ‘B’ Division League Cricket Tournament semi-finals with a 73-run victory over Unity Gymkhana here on Tuesday.

Batting first, Orangi Star CC posted a huge 260-9 in 35 overs at the Afza Cricket Ground. Moin scored 80 with the aid of eight boundaries with Mohammad Atif (53) and Asghar Malik (44) providing solid support. Hammad Ahmed took 4-70 and Masoom Ali 3-83.

Unity Gymkhana, in reply, could muster 187 all out in 25.2 overs. Meesam Abbas batted superbly to make a fighting 91 featuring 11 boundaries. Off-spinner Jamal took 5-25.

Sakhi Hasan Gymkhana also reached the last-four stage by inflicting a 184-run defeat on Nazari Sports at the Sakhi Hasan Gymkhana Ground.

Mujeebullah shone for the winners with a knock 56 and two wickets.
